Redondo Beach Fire Department Receives $9600 Grant

Lockton Insurance Brokers LLC and Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. recently awarded a $9,563 grant to the Redondo Beach, Calif., Fire Department for the purchase of software, which is critical for planning, prevention and mitigation of fire and life-safety issues.

“The software will have a positive impact upon the community by allowing our fire personnel to capture more detailed and specific fire code violations and trends in our community,” said Fire Chief Daniel Madrigal. “The software will produce statistical reports, the most common fire code violations, generate public education outreach bulletins, and create highly-detailed graphs and charts which will assist our fire education officers in the delivery of our monthly community and senior citizen education programs.”

“Supporting our local communities is a priority at Lockton and part of our corporate culture,” said Mark Zwickel of Lockton Insurance Brokers LLC.

The grant package is part of a nationwide philanthropic program funded by Fireman’s Fund. The program is designed to provide needed equipment, training and educational tools to local fire departments. Since 2004, Fireman’s Fund has issued grants to more than 1,100 different departments totaling more than $21 million. Independent insurance agencies that sell Fireman’s Fund products are able to direct these grants to support fire stations in their communities. Lockton Insurance Brokers, LLC was instrumental in directing this specific one to Redondo Beach.
