It would be an interesting exercise in rating if a company were to even attempt to write a policy for earth movement, mud flow etc… in this area given the almost certainty of large losses in the next 6 months.
This is indeed going to be a HUGE problem. I don’t think the average resident of these areas has the slightest clue as to how large a problem this represents. Almost 200 square miles burned in this fire and all of it is in steep terrain made of decomposed granite. One only needs to look at the floods of 1933 and 1969 that hit this area after the fires in those years to see how potentially devastating this winters rains can be.
