Well at least the folks in the Congress and Senate do not have to make these kinds of choices. They have the health care coverage for the rest of thier lives. Great system, isn’t it?

8.2 million Californians are now self-insured not uninsured. The majority of people in this category are not willing to give up their cigarettes, beer or gambling money, drive older cars, live in affordable housing or spend less on going out to eat. California children are being provided free government health care, those most likely to use it – the 65 and older crowd have Medicare and those with bad genes, life threatening diseases and serious injury can spend their way down to Medicaid eligibility – the rest can go back to Mexico and get on their government’s health plan. Sorry no sympathy here.

    Hi Disgusted:
Please send me a $260 a month to pay my health insurance, I’d like to upgrade my car and I hear Toyotas are on sale.

And with typical liberal ignorance, Disgusted starts the name-calling. Here’s an idea–present a legitimate argument to rebutt Bob’s assertions.

Gee Bob. Thanks for helping us all figure it out. Every one of those 8.2 million is in the “not like Bob” catagory and therefore must have their hand out. Do you think it’s a good thing that the ERs in Califonia are stacked up with people without insurance and who cannot be turned away? It’s no wonder that Hospital Administrators bill insurance companies outrageous fees for simple supplies like alcohol swabs and syringes. I guess it’s due to all those fat slobs who lack your work ethic. Maybe some of the 8.2 million have been unemployed for a while and are beyond COBRA who must go it alone and choose between their home or paying for medical bills. Are we to believe, as you probably do, that the 45,000 or so people who die every year in this country from lack of access to quality care are “just asking for it?” I hope you don’t belong to a church or call yourself even mildly religious. If you do, there is some real hypocracy. Nice guy. You must be a fun guy to live with. Bob, try to adopt this manra: “Nobody should go broke because they are sick”. Adopt some humility, dude.

    Hi: Sad statistic
Based on your response you’ve shamed me into changing my name.
However would you Please reimburse me for the $1800 a month I and my business, which supports two employees, pay in Social Security, Medicare, unemployment, Work Comp and Medical Insurance I’d like to upgrade my home since “disgusted” is helping me buy a fancier car I need a home to match.

You don’t get it do you? If you want to help – increase your contributions to the government but let me spend the money that I earn on my family. Incidentally I do pay tithes, give to the United Campaign and am a contributor to my colleges’ scholarship fund. Oh yes, I also buy Girl Scout Cookies, Boy Scout Popcorn and put money in those little red kettles every year.

P.S. Religion also establishes stewardship, thanks for judging me, but doesn’t it get a bit crowded sharing the thrown with God?

Do you also realize that between 45,000-70,000 people die in hospitals caused by bad care? Seems it would be better to stay home and take your chances than get admitted to a hospital. Maybe if we got rid of the 4-5 million illegals, CA might have a chance.
