A tax by any other name is still a tax!

Not like this is going to help balance the state budget or anything like that…

And I bet that there is nothing in the legislation to keep them from taking the reserves in the event of a “fiscal crisis”. Thats how they did in social security.

How soon before they tax the air we breathe? How is that hope and change working? Good luck to all the hard working people in California. Pretty soon, if not already, your paychecks will be worthless.

The only way to fight these morons is to find a way to offset their constant taxing.
Whenever the state morons do something like this, I try to find a way to use my tax dollars in another state. Calif does not deserve any more of my money and I make a point of NOT spending my money here. It’s the only way to fight back considering our elected clowns don’t understand our desires of small government and NO SPENDING.

since this is for emergency response, instead of taxing the people who have insurance, why not just put the tax on all properties(because they are still fire fighting those properties who have NO insurance)–it ain’t right. a tax is a tax is a tax, no matter where it is.

Just another clear demonstration that the heavy taxes we already pay are lavished and wasted by our government on things few sober people would allow if individually making the spending decision. Instead, our royalty in Sacramento will continue spending OUR money like drunken sailors and legislating more of the same if we don’t stop this. It’s time to take a hard stand against this assault on every dollar we work for.

Sounds nice to have a fund for emergencies, but who’s managing the funds and who’s making sure $ doesn’t go for over paid govt. workers to not respond to phone calls and not be courteous on the phone?

In a depressed economy it is ludicrous that CA would consider another tax that will be passed on to consumers to fund an already bloated beauracracy. Let the insurers doing business in the state manage their own fund that must be available in case of emergencies and do away with another govt. agency. I guarantee that the insurers will look after the funds better than the govt.

Follow the money. The state over spends our money and cannot find new dollars fast enough so, another “emergency” fund to drain as it tries to fill. All of our state Senators & Representatives would be in jail if not working for the state government due to lack of fiscal responsibility. No to the Fund!
