How can you compare a state with the population of California with Illinois or Pennsylvania? Without a per capita comparison this article is very misleading.

This is one of the dumbest articles I have seen. This is news? As the prior comment indicates when a State has $35M plus population we should be surprised by this. Thanks for sharing this in depth piece of information

If State Farm says all breeds are equal, why not back that up with experience. Out of the thousands of bites State Farm experienced, what’s the frequency and severity by breed? Somehow I doubt all breeds are equal and State farm seems to have an agenda by making such a claim and not sharing the info.

What I gathered from the article is the average cost per claim. Jurisdictionally, it would seem more lucrative to be bitten in California rather than Indiana where settlements average nearly half the Calif. costs… Not surprising if you know anything about the legal system in the Golden State.
Oh – by the way…do you all really expect earth-shattering, mind-blowing “news” in everything you read?? The “comments” are far more annoying than the “articles”. Just sayin’-

Wow, more clarification on the news of nothing – maybe you can write for the insurance journel also (maybe you do already)? “Just Sayin”.
