This restructuring for California residents is really absurd, and it makes me angry to see how it’s being spun to sound positive.

In reality, the decrease in rates only applies to SOME California residents, and many of us in fact are seeing are rates go up. Mine went up by over 50%!

I really would like to see some figures published on what total percentage of USAA’s California homeowners actually have seen this alleged decrease in rates, and what the average total INCREASE in rates has been for the rest of us.

Based on my own 50+% increase, I would imagine that the average increase in rates for USAA’s total California customer base is way larger than 15%, which would mean that this move didn’t have a positive net effect on this state’s residents at all.

I am currently looking for a new company to move all of my policies over to.
