OK, 20 kids died, 11 of them were either unrestrained or improperly restrained. In my book that’s 55%. How many of the 6 and 7 year olds were among those 11? This is just another example of how Colorado has become a Nanny State under Governor Ritter. When the law was passed last year, it was in all the papers an on TV News. Nothing since then. On Sunday the news media mentioned that this law will go in effect on Monday. I feel sorry for the parents that have to hustle and buy a car seat for their 6,7 and 8 year olds. And one school district in my county started school today. School buses don’t have safety belts/seats.

Government is intruding in our lifes more and more.

8 years old?! How about they fine the idiot parents for not making sure the kids are seatbelted in. They are going to have to make some big car seats. Love to see that 4ft, 60 lb kid in a car seat….nice….

How the heck is a child seat going to help even an 8 year old if they unrestrained or improperly restrained. Another thing is how do find a seat that fits an 8 year old. I swear politicians are morons.

It’s getting worse. According to today’s local paper there are also weight and hight requirements that would apply to kids even 11 years old. This is crazy. Thank goodness my kids are adults and my grandkids don’t have to subjected to this, since they are all over 17
