There is no more corrupt form of government on the planet than a homeowners association.

Look I am the treasurer of our HOA and would never ever think of doing this. It’s the treasurer’s fault not the HOA. They discovered it so they did something about it.

If the HOA had used at least two brain cells and bonded the treasurer all they have to do is wait for the conviction, collect the bond proceeds, and let the bond company pursue recovery. With no bond in force these thieves usually weasel a plea bargain and end up paying $20 a month forever if the victim is lucky. The victim deserves such a lousy restitution program for not buying a bond or crime insurance.

The HOA DID have a bond in place for her.. unfortunately at some point she stopped paying the annual bond premium and it lapsed! The few times she provided a HOA fimnancial statement, we now know they were falsified and fabricated. She bought a Mustang and installed an in ground pool in her yard a few years ago and I think it’s time we have her home removed and the pool now belongs to the neighborhood community!!! The crazy thing is her husband is a Senior Accounting Compliance Officer for Albertsons (We do know he knew nothing about what she was doing though).
