Well, I guess pressing a lawsuit sure beats working as an assistant to the assistant manager at a fast food chain.
Though losing a child doesn’t make it a bargain.
If the DA cannot decide whether to press charges due to an inability to determine fault, I can only suppose that the burden of proof in civil court must be much lower.
Poor Dr. Aaron. Just shows you cannot have a couple of pops after work and then drive home. Her life is ruined, too.

“working as an assistant to the assistant manager at a fast food chain.”

Are you ASSuming because of the family name?

No. Has NADA to do with her heritage, though at first I might have thought she enlisted someone to ‘rep’ the family because they were hiding from the NIS.
I checked her profile on a work-related social media. Aren’t you interested in the larger story?

Wow reality bites, a drunk driver kills a little girl and you have nothing to add but sarcasm when it comes to her family, but for the drunk driver, you have only sympathy. I guess I just look at things like this a little differently than you.

J.S. – was the driver legally drunk? Yes – by the hair of a definition. Is that a tragedy for the driver? Not really.

If you READ the article and research it some more on the internet, you will find that there are a LOT of questions as to whether the other driver was at fault for the accident. The witnesses, and even the mother of the child, were conflicted as to whether the light was green, red or who had the right of way.

I am NOT in favor of drunk driving. I AM in favor of balance. Go online, do a search, and see a picture of the non-mother driver at an arraignment – she’s wearing shackles, for goodness sake, as if she were a violent gang banger.

In accidents involving semi-, totally- or obliteratedly- drunk drivers, isn’t it possible to be the victim of being struck simply by a poor or inattentive driver? And no, Blondie, that isn’t class-ism; I’m referring to her skills behind the wheel, with two kids in the backseat, and add whatever distractions you want.

It is sorrowful the child lost her life. The real reasons why may never be known, whether in civil or criminal court. What is certain is that everyone’s lives are ruined.
