    this is more of the same stupidity that has caused the flood program to be billions in debt – departure from standard, sane underwriting procedures. our congress just renewed the flood program with promises of changing it to bring it into profitability, then FEMA immediately bends the rules and continues to make exceptions – to satisfy local congressmen.
    it will never become profitable.

      @ Bob,,,,, Let them do it, it will just fatten the coffers. There is no risk of flooding on the side of a mountain.

    Give me a break, you live at an elavation of 6000 ft plus on the eastern slope of the rockies and suddenly FEMA is going to waive the 30 day waiting period. You may as well be selling them tsunami insurance !!! Sorry for the sarcasm…. but the goverment is using this as a propaganda and advertising stunt.

    Flood insurance also covers a flow of liquid mud and there is definitely an increased risk of mud flow on mountainsides denuded by fire.
