Of course the fees are to pad the coffers; Burning Man is Pershing County’s bread and butter. Look how disingenuous PC is being, insinuating that these poor put upon 5,500 residents have to babysit 60,000 participants. In this case babysit means they have put up with the heavy traffic through their towns by the many tourists spending their tourist dollars. Annoying? Yes. Lucrative? Yes. “Foot the bill,” what a joke.

Incidentally, Sheriff Skinner of Pershing County thinks ladies showing their ankles is lewd. If the laws are now conforming to his opinions than Burning Man and all 5,500 Pershing County residents are in for a sad surprise.

Skinner is not sheriff of Pershing County. Allegedly, Jim Shirley and other political enemies of the public set up a website to eradicate him for having a differing opinion.
The Pershing County Commissioners accept thousands of dollars in tangible assets (free Burning Man tickets) and bit the hand that fed them. And now they are getting the pants sued off them, for looking a gift horse in the mouth. I bet the taxpayers are happy with that! Which department in the county will they cut and eradicate next? Senior services?
