State Fund 2012 Annual Report Shows Net Income Increase

    My experience with the new State Fund has been a large reduction of service. I have not been able to place new business as the lead time for me for quote response has been more than 4 weeks. Underwriters do not return calls. Everyone I have been able to communicate with has been swamped. One of my renewals was not quoted until the week of expiration.

    Don’t understand how the Fund can operate in such a manner. Hope they can improve their service and become the reliable workers compensation carrier they were once.

    Unfortunately, the way they address reducing expenses is more often related to reducing staff than anything else. This is really the first path that most organizations consider but it comes at a cost; deteriorating service, poor contact patterns, late claims handling, ultimately mismanaged claims, etc. Not likely to get better over the short term, as I see it.
