I’m very sorry that any individuals were hurt when they lost control of their Toyotas. As I have said at least a dozen times on this IJ site, any car with a properly functioning brake system can stop the car whether the throttle is wide open or shut. I have also recounted how Igave skeptics a ride in my car and I held the throttle at its maximum with my right foot and pressed the brake pedal with my left foot. The supercharger boost was at 10 psi and the car still came to a halt albeit with stinky brakes.
