Which bothers me more? The content of the text, or the fact he was texting while his patient is hovering between life and death?

“improperly accessing medical-record imaging for sexual gratification” ? Xray fetish? Hope they yank his license…frightening to those that were in surgery.

If he was sexting during surgery, isn’t this operating under the influence?

If the AP would have sexted the doctor instead of trying to call him, maybe they would have gotten a response.

Cannot believe they allowed the doctor to carry his phone into the operating room. In my opinion, that is criminal neglect — on the part of the doctor and on the part of the hospital only if they allow such practice to continue.

Who would “dislike” this comment. Tell us why you believe doctors should have their phones in the ER. The only valid reason I can think of would be so the DR could Google instructions – “How to remove a ……… “

Actually, doctors do need phones while in surgery – not for Google but for contact. Doctors aren’t necessarily hands-on (or in) with the patient at every moment during surgery, as I know from first-hand experience with a loved one. That said, in my family’s case, as in any case, it should only be used in case of medical emergencies. A life was saved because the doctor could be in touch via telephone and view images that were being sent to him from a colleague in the ER. I’m confident the patient on whom he was operating at the moment wasn’t jeopardized in the least. I acknowledge the sensibility of Huh!’s comment but it shouldn’t be the rule for the reason I stated.

He gets 11 thumbs up for his joke. I say I like it and I get 3 thumbs DOWN? What is wrong with you people? You’re obviously not able to be objective on the content that’s posted, only on the poster. Very mature, I might add.
