Uber = unregulated taxi service. Call it whatever you want, and use the latest and greatest technology, but you are still a taxi service. You are fighting regulation so that you can have an unfair competitive advantage against taxi companies.
I don’t have a dog in this fight, but I think it is interesting that so many people will use Uber over a taxi service simply based on price. The unregulated, non-compliant service provider, contractor, taxi cab, etc… can normally offer lower rates; they aren’t playing by the same rules.
