It is time for the Fire Depts to begin charging dumb asses for setting fires. They give a ton of lip service to doing it and it is rarely done but this type of fire is preventable and they should pay the price. I don’t care if they are rich or poor, pay the price in some way to recoup the expenses to rectify their dumb ass action.
The real dumb A$$es are the ones burning their trash in rural areas when there is an announced burn ban. Many rural VFD’s do charge a service fee if they are called out to put out a fire.
