This appears to be an “intentional” act so why did his insurance pay??

Interesting. Now if the person was 7 years old, I could see a sentence like that, but 17? Who cares if he left the garage door open a little. It doesn’t give anyone the right to break in, unless he had a garage sale sign up. Give me a break!

AS a resident of town in which it occurred, the facts presented in the article are unclear. The man baited the garage to get them to come in, and then staked it out and fired the gun into the garage. He also allegedly made statements that he planned to do it. It is an interesting and sad case.

I agree its a sad case. But untimately the young man was in control. He could have prevented this by NOT trespassing. Simple as that. Its a sad country when a man can not defend his property, when someone ENTERS his house.

In the good old USA there’s nothing like a few shotgun blasts to make things right by gum! Wrong. The shooter was in control. He had the bait & he had the gun. Sick…

How about not going into a garage to take anything that’s not yours, or you could get shot. I don’t blame the man for firing his gun and hitting his target. STAY OUT OF PROPERTY THAT ISN’T YOURS!

So it´s Ok to shoot at the head a 17 years old unarmed wounded burglar laying on the floor pleading for his life. Can we torture him a little before? Just for fun…

i’m sorry about the kid, but more sorry for the homeowner. i would contribute to any fund to help him . this is a tragedy AND a miscarriage of justice.

The problem is the homeowners set a trap with a purse that included a bottle of medication, he bragged he was going to kill someone and would be on the news, and he shot this kid while Mr. Dede begged for his life. This young man should not have gone into the garage, but he did not believe he would be killed over a minuscule crime. Mr. Kaarma wanted fame and fortune. He got the fame part, and I am only sorry that the wife did not get prison time too. Read the police reports, watch the police videos of the night it happened, and read the court docs.

I found it interesting that while the police Dept was unable to apprehend the burglars of the two previous robberies, they were able to find them after the killing and have them give testimony in court during the trial. I believe that had the Missoula Police done their job there would not have been a killing. Mr Kaarma’s thoughts could have been that if the police can’t do their job, he’ll do it for them.
