Good for them. The recreational users take over if you give them Medical Marijuana prescriptions. It is just a gateway drug on the way to Coke or Meth.

I have to disagree with you on this one, Agent. In a prescribed/controlled environment, medical marijuana is a lifesaver to so many people in need. It may be a gateway drug on the streets, but why deny people who suffer from chronic pain & life-altering illnesses the ability to live healthier lives and contribute more to society? It’s also a tax boon for every state that endorses a medical marijuana initiative.

Of course, there will be those who bilk the system, but that exists with any “drug”. Look at alcohol. There will always be an opportunist who either buys for or sells to minors. It can’t be stopped but it can be enforced, and we’d be a lot worse off if alcohol was strictly a black market item.

      Just my take.

Agent – do you believe people who drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes have a higher risk (or rate of) doing other drugs compared to those who do not drink and smoke?

THC is not hallucinogenic, as your article suggests. It is psychoactive, instead. This misconception persists after five decades of research and ten thousand years of human use supporting the medical efficacy of cannabis.

This was tried in Montana in 2004 with terrible results. Instantly, 30,000 medical marijuana cards issued? Give me a break! Why can this be put into a pill form and dispensed like any other prescription drug instead of the form connotates to illegal use?
