While I have sympathy for the grieving family, honestly I do, their mother’s body was nothing but an empty vessel at that point. To go to the extent of suing someone because your mother’s corpse wasn’t as pretty as you thought it ought to be is quite silly. Did their inability to play dress up with her deceased body really make them so jaded that they would remove themselves from the registry and not give another human being the opportunity to live? As a liver recipient myself, I have the utmost respect and admiration for not only my donor but also his or her family. At their moment of loss and despair, their decision to donate saved my family from the same loss and despair and their act of love has given me (and likely 4 other people) 10 additional years of life I would not have otherwise had. These selfish children are doing their mother’s gift a disservice.

I am sorry the the family had a negative experience with donation. It saves, improves and heals so many lives. Our funeral director did a great job and we could not tell any difference in our viewing. Seems more and more people are donating after they pass. I have not heard of this happening before.
