So this means no way of compelling people to show up in court or pay fines for infractions?
If that is so, you can expect your taxes to go up as cities, counties and CA all start seeing a “revenue” shortfall from not being able to collect the fines.
Say it ain’t so? Everyone of them budgets a certain amount for these monies and it will be like the red light cameras all over again-only the foolish or ignorant will pay their fines and then the politicos will raise other taxes and fees to compensate. GAWD how I hate Ca politicians!

Can’t pay the fine, lose the car and get a bus pass. Likely uninsured anyway. Good thing CA doesn’t set policy for the rest of the country.

If you can’t pay the fine, don’t do the crime!

Sorry, but how do they pay for gas to drive around???

Perhaps the $ amount of the fines are too high but don’t stop enforcing!

I am sick and tired of rules, laws, guidelines, etc. being changed because they are too burdensome for people. The more this happens the more people think they can do whatever they want, when and where ever they want (causing great inconvenience for other folks) without regard to others safety or feelings.

Just because it is easier or less harsh or more convenient doesn’t mean that it is in the public interest as a whole OR that it is right.

We are a society that enables. Consequences for wrongful acts are falling away. In this particular case if there is no consequence for not paying a ticket why pay at all?
