Those two should be convicted of murder and sent to the worst Hell-hole for life. Death by drugs isn’t nearly bad enough.

If Alameda County is serious about dealing with how bad the health and safety is at these various artists lofts and collectives, then they will shut all of them down-its not like this is a one off.
There were some similar issues in So Cal a few years ago but it involved giving and selling illegal drugs to minors at Raves by folks like this scum bag.
My bet is that this being the Crazy Bay, the authorities will turn a blind eye to this as soon as this investigation is done and over with.
Other bet is that this dude didn’t have insurance and the building owner may see a policy limits loss. Wonder who the lucky carrier is?

The best advice I ever heard on this type of exposure: be your own fire marshal. If you need to climb a stack of pallets to get to the second floor, why are you even going in?

There are a lot of guilty parties here:

    1. The landlord for not properly maintaining control over the building use, even after being warned about complaints.
    2. The City of Oakland for knowing that there were code violations and not moving quickly or strongly enough to close down the building.
    3. Most off all the master tenant who knowingly invited and subjected unsuspecting victims who paid to enter a firetrap. He’s the one who needs to go to prison for this.
