I believe that this late spring heat wave they are referring to is more commonly known as “summer” and should last into mid-September.

Summer doesn’t begin until June 21st and it’s already unseasonably warm here with high 90s expected before next Wednesday. Definitely a late spring heat wave.

I live here too Fair and it feels like every summer has a highs-in-the-90s heatwave more often than not. It could just feel that way to me though since I only remember the miserable parts.

Yeah, we have a lot of climate variety in Southern California depending on elevation and distance from the coast. Where I live we rarely, if ever, see high 90s in June; it’s not until late July or August.
