Well, my dad always said if you’re going to do it, do it big.

It is about time. It took long enough. I have been following this case for years. At least one of the corrupt Calderon family Legislators is in jail. By the way, Workers’ Compensation is still unwieldy in California, and the so-called “reforms” pitched by Calderon are not working as pitched by him. Until and unless all parties, including carriers, medical providers, Dept of Ins, Dept of Industrial Relations, WCIRB, attorneys, and other parties, all sit down together to put together a workable bill, not one written by lobbyists, CA WC will continue to underperform. After all these years and decades, we all deserve a system which actually works, is cost-effective, has some justice to it, provides for injured workers, doesn’t enrich scammers like Drobot, has some real teeth to it in terms of penalties for disrupting the system, and still allows insurers to make a reasonable rate of return. This is not an impossibility. All of the above parties have NEVER all sat down together to take the time to truly hash out something equitable. All past bills and all past “reforms” have been written by one interest group or constituency or another. No one has had the courage to put ALL of the above parties together. That would be real “reform”.
