Western Security Surplus Insurance Brokers LLC has named Mark Kaufman its chief operating officer.
Kaufman will be charged with growing WSS’ West coast production staff as well as adding product lines. Kaufman will be part of the Los Angeles team in a new Sherman Oaks office.
Kaufman has more than 34 years of experience in excess and surplus lines and most recently held the COO position for Monarch E&S Insurance Services, where he worked for the past 24 years.
Specialty Program Group LLC last year acquired the assets of Burbank, Calif.-based wholesaler Monarch.
Kaufman is currently president of the California Insurance Wholesalers Association.
WSS serves retail agencies through placement of general liability, package liability, DIC, property and other policies. WSS is headquartered in Plano, Texas with producers located in California and Texas.
