Whew! That was a close one. My dog was teeing up a class action suit against me and dozens of other dog owners, alleging neglect for not taking him to the park often enough.

Another close one. The birds visiting my feeder may have sued me because I forgot to put seeds in it and fill the bird bath in time.

The day will come when animals do have standing to sue. Remember the late U.S. Supreme Court justice Douglas’ famous line: “Even a tree has standing to sue.”

If only animals and plants could sue. Maybe then we would stop destroying the earth. Greed and a lack of empathy for the fellow animals and plants on this earth will be the death of mankind.

No, Libertarian Agent, morons like you will be the death of mankind. You place the welfare of animals above people. It’s done way too often these day. Animals are to be treated well and with, love, respect and taken care of…no question about that. too many these days consider them equal to humans. You can slaughter babies by the millions but send people to jail for being cruel to animals. Pedophiles can do all kinds of harm to our children with no concern (Catholic priests not going to jail) but let an animal be born deformed and crazy people will pay thousands to restore them to some semblance of life as if they have all the emotions and feelings of humans.

Humans ARE animals. We have completely changed the face of our planet. And not for the better. It’s about educating people. Making people realize that we ARE animals and we need to stop looking at ourselves as Superior to every other living thing on this earth. I don’t believe in harming anything the way you make it sound. You are putting words in my mouth. But typical of the Conservative agenda. Attack anyone who expresses empathy or sympathy. Name call anyone who thinks differently than you.

Hah. Irony is your last phrase.

Expect someone to call your nonsense out. Expect them to do so colorfully. When someone advocates for ideas the negatively affect mankind, and talk down to mankind, expect a rebuff. This is different than say going for someone’s job, or life, like liberals do.

            Or like this:

            https://www.dangerous.com/49605/boy-13-arrested-cuffed-and-dragged-from-school-over-metoo-allegations/

As for the topic at hand:

If we are animals, then we will look at ourselves, as do the other animals on this planet. Stop talking down to animal kind? Irony.

Humans are not defacing the planet. This is ludicrous. There are billions of humans, largely due to how they have adapted on the planet, and this would be impossible without having done so.

I’m kind of curious why you would want to eliminate half of them, and claim you’re helping animals or the planet. Do humans not count?

I’m kind of curious where your evidence is that we are destroying the planet, concrete evidence, or is this labeling your opponents as earth destroyers, which is somehow ok for you to do, but when perplexed calls you out as stupid, suddenly you play victim?

            I don’t think so.

First off, I’m not talking down to anyone. I’m stating that you don’t need to call someone a moron to get your point across. There are plenty of native tribes who live without defacing the planet. It is not impossible. It is a choice. And if it were impossible in this day and age, I would like to point out that it has to do with corporate greed. I would give anything to have a cabin on a lake up north without property taxes that I could live off the land. But in our current world of property taxes, it is not possible. Even when you ‘own’ the land, you are forced to pay for it.

Here is an article that talks about the current environmental situation more in depth.
    https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2014/sep/29/earth-lost-50-wildlife-in-40-years-wwf

Humans are the only animals to only take and not give to the planet. Even in death, we are choosing to embalm or cremate instead of decomposing back into the great circle of life.

Half of all pregnancies do not end in abortion. Because I support women having the right to choose to have one, does not mean that I would have one myself.

“All good things are wild and free’ HDT
“None of Nature’s landscapes are ugly so long as they are wild.” John Muir
Nature is LIFE. Animals and plants SHOULD have rights. We do not OWN the planet. We are BORROWING the planet from our grandchildren and we need to start treating it with such reverence. I pray to the universe every day that there will be another man like John Muir. We all owe John Muir an incredible debt.

I live as simplistic of a life as I possibly can in today’s society. But I escape to the wild Northwoods, the lakes, and the county, state, and national parks every chance I get. I live in a small, simple house in the country on a lake. I try my best every day to be a good steward to the land. And there is nothing greater than hearing the sound of nature whispering their thanks.

You might have noticed that countries with the very best environments are rich countries. Poor countries have the worst records for pollution. And logically so.

And since you are such a fan of protecting the environment, you should also be a fan of capitalism. Because countries with a clean environment are those that can afford it, meaning countries with a strong free market as the basis for exchange of goods.

Just the facts. Just the truth.

Agree with that. Too often we see poorer countries using their water supply as dumps which is a real travesty. Additionally wildlife is killed and smuggled because it’s an easy way for someone to make a buck. I wouldn’t say that capitalism on it’s own cures these problems (our early history isn’t good in the pollution department) but there is no doubt that affluence can allow countries to direct attention and resources to the environment.

Also woefully inaccurate. The last part of this is one item. Saying they give nothing to the planet is incorrect.

This is a serious degradation of humanity. You need serious help.

      “Ego, and delusions of grandeur.”

Also, this isn’t a random insult. This is literally what your last one is. It has no point other than to say how great you are, and how the world should be, and it’s delusional.

If you don’t want me to say it, put something of context in your post.

The only part you had was this:

      https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2014/sep/29/earth-lost-50-wildlife-in-40-years-wwf

Before humans were around many species went extinct due to changes, and other species. It doesn’t really matter if we’ve done it more. We’re part of the food chain and we’re at the top. Until there is a catastrophic level extinction of all animals including humans, I’m not concerned, and I know how you will take that.

1 human is worth all the exotic frogs on the planet, if they don’t do anything other than exist. Some animals exist to be eaten. Some exist to keep an environment going. As long as the creature going extinct doesn’t harm the overall environment and those at the top, I’m not concerned. At all.

I will not sacrifice 1 child for all the dogs in the U.S. And this should be the way we operate.

“Until there is a catastrophic level extinction of all animals including humans, I’m not concerned, and I know how you will take that.”

And I’m the only creature or species capable of consciously thinking that, every other animal simply doesn’t care at all, they only care about their survival. We are unique in making the decision to think what I just said.

To the rest of the animals it doesn’t matter. They will kill each other off, won’t even know it,etc. It seems you know humans are superior, you’re holding them to higher requirements.

I challenge you why we are more immoral than a lion, who eats their prey alive when training their young (go watch the videos, it’s horrifying) and will kill their children when they take over a new pack and drive out the old leader male.

Don’t you tell me how humans aren’t “adding anything” and try to be poetic with me. Animal nature is chaos, it’s the strongest survive. We are the only ones that don’t operate that way, by choice, consciously.

Lions eat for food. They dominate female lions. They do NOT dominate every living thing in entire counties. They don’t kill other packs over imaginary gods as humans do. They don’t live long enough to change the landscape and environments. I have never claimed that the wild was ‘safe’. But it is certainly more morally just than we are.
