California State Fund Launches Telehealth Services

California’s State Fund will now provide injured workers round-the-clock access physicians from a desktop computer, tablet or mobile phone.

State Fund on Thursday announced its partnership with Kura MD, a provider of telehealth services, to offer health services to injured workers 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

State Fund’s telehealth services also offer:

“By offering an easy-to-use, convenient telehealth option for our injured workers, we’re providing them a way to access a variety of types of care more quickly and with less required travel time,” Dr. Dinesh Govindarao, chief medical officer at State Fund, said in a statement. “We also recognized the need to offer more care options in rural areas that can be underserved.”

State Fund is a workers’ comp insurer originally created as a public enterprise fund by California.
