One more over reaching bill, like so many lately. that is poorly thought out and/or backed by a union! Want to ruin another business in this state, well here you go, truckers will just domicile in Nevada or Arizona and only come into the state to drop loads and then leave. Anyone who thinks this will NOT cross over into our business better wake up, they want captive agents to be classed as employees and that to will follow. Enjoy.

Yes I have, and I paid them. The state’s decision has nothing to do with leveling a playing field or making it better for the truckers, it has everything to do with increasing the payroll taxes they receive as well as other taxes or other fees they can tack on. And this was supported by the unions, why? Because they see the dollars in more union members being signed up, do they really care about their members, hardly. Worked for the Teamsters, was not a good experience, and if a truck driver wants to work for a company then they can apply. This is forcing those who do not want to do that to either find employment with a company or leave the state, is that a good thing?

Why specifically do you feel that way about the unions? What experience personally do you have with labor unions, I’m curious. Because I was briefly a Steward of a local labor unions, and everyone I grew to know in that time cared only about their fellow workers. So please, elaborate on where you get your union information. You

Why dont you answer the last portion of “B’s” message where people that DONT WANT TO BE PART OF UNION OR COMPANY are now forced against their will to relocate?

It’s none of your business why people feel the way they do, you worry about your own feelings John.

Everyone cared for you? What are you in need of emotional support you broken human? You want company? go play bingo, go get into sports. I get up in AM to get money, not make friends at work. If i want friends, ill find them elsewhere. The only way i can experience care from a company is in $$$$$ amounts. I dont care about your coffee, i dont care about your fake smiles, i dont care what everyone watches when they get home or what political bull shit they are part of, i go to work to make money and when unions take over, they make money by billions just on memberships… and thats care? Who cared for you? How much did there “CARE” help your family pay bills?
You are talking like you are really immature about the business side of things.. .especially when there are people that can do things with their own hands and WANT to have their own schedules. Now emotionally needy people like you want us at work keeping you company lol
Screw that and Screw California. may it crack, fill up with water and sink to the bottom.

Jon – People get paid what they are worth. Driving is an extremely low skilled job hence the low pay. There are plenty of other industries with high skilled independent contractors that make substantially more than what a typical employee might in the same industry.

Driving is an extremely low skilled job that is still a very essential part of united states business with an absolute shortage in supply of skilled drivers. You say it’s low skilled, but the numbers of drivers that can maintain those hours and distances without a high loss ratio is dwindling. Additionally, our country currently runs on freight. Without truck drivers business would stop. Asking that they be given a fair wage is not out of hand.

Independent contractor making less then 30k a year? Why you bother being independent? and if you DID choose to be independent, why the fk would you be upset about it? Go get a real job and not complain about independent contractors. If id didnt work, there wouldn’t be any people becoming independent contractors, but there are and quite a few of them, because the CAN make it work, unlike you.
