Florida-based agency specializing in Collector Vehicle insurance now offers program in 44 states

American Hobbyist Insurance has become a national player in the collector vehicle insurance niche, with program availability in 44 states and additional state filings pending.

The agency offers low “collector” rates for both classic (original) and custom vehicles. Collector rates are often dramatically lower than “standard” auto insurance rates as collector vehicles are used “gently” and driven less than regular cars, thus creating a lesser degree of risk and the opportunity for the insurer to offer reduced rates for the same (or broader) coverage.

Collector vehicles of all years, makes & models – from an 1895 Benz to a 2003 “anniversary edition” Corvette – may qualify for placement with American Hobbyist. Vehicles must be garage-kept and driven on a limited, “collector” basis (i.e., hobby activities & occasional pleasure drives) in order to qualify.

American Hobbyist welcomes brokered submissions. Many agents and brokers seek out the market to retain existing business and acquire new accounts. The agency has no minimum production requirements; agents may access the market on an “as needed” basis. Commission is 10%, new and renewal, with renewals billed direct. Consumers may also buy coverage on a direct basis.

Claims are paid on an Agreed Value basis, meaning that in event of total loss, the full insured value of the collector vehicle is paid, with no value depreciation.
