The BIGGEST Problem with Trucks On The Highway Is -> S P E E D – Speed – S P E E D.
As a retired Truck-Driver in the US, and now as a person who travels all over the United States, I have First-Hand experience with the conversion from the past to the present.
In the past trucks were limited to speeds lesser than cars, and they were limited to slower driving-lanes than cars.
Presently trucks are driving at higher speeds than cars and using all-lanes of the highway, and, they have been doing so for several years.
This, to the point now that truckers will get so close to a cars bumper in an effort to force the car’s driver to go faster regardless of the lane that the car is driving in.
Most trucks (98%) are driving “10-or-more” miles-an-hour “OVER” The Speed-Limit.
Many times on my past trips, and recent trips, I have had truckers plow-down on my rear-bumper, while I was driving in the “Slow-Lane” at “70-miles-an-hour”, in an effort to push me to a higher speed.
While driving through Texas a few months ago, a trucker that had been behind me in a “70-mile-an-hour-speed-zone”, and in the “so-called” “slow-lane”, passed me and swung his rear-wheels at me as he passed, because I would not go over the speed limit.
The truck was miles ahead of me in a few minutes – even though I was driving at “70-miles-an-hour”.
The Highways will remain “unsafe”, and even get worse, unless truckers are required to lower their SPEED. Is The-Stuff that they deliver more important than “Our Lives”-?
80 and 90-miles-an hour, is just “Too-Fast” for trucks to be flying down the Highway.
Also, “Tow-Trucks” speed through streets and highways towing cars and trucks like they are taking the vehicle to the Emergency-Room of a Hospital.
Slow The Trucks Down – And SAVE LIVES … Slow-The-Cars-Down – And Save More Lives. Speed[ng-Drivers Kill People – Most of the time The-Speeder Kills Other-PEOPLE.
Many Places Are Still There – Many People Did-Not Make It “There”.
