Re: Take the Harford "Agent's Challenge"
I have no idea why an independent agent would chose to hitch their wagon in a significant way to a national carrier with a direct selling arm when there are so many good regional companies out there. They may still move the cheese but the guys doing it will have to look you in the eye and explain it.

Non Standard Farm/Ranch account
The loss ratio is ugly with frequency and severity issues over the past three years. They are being non renewed and none of my standard carriers will take it. Are there any options other than Scottsdale or Burlington?

Re: CertsNow 24/7 or CSR24
I have used CSR24 for two years and I could never leave. I have several large trucking accounts and condo association managers that love it. The condo manager gets very competitive quotes from Farmers but gives us a second look and sticks with us at times because of our system and how much easier it...

Re: The Thinking of Selling Insurance all over many states
It can be done... but what value to you bring to a client outside of your immediate area? Do you have a special niche program that the thousands of local agents don't have? I feel like that is your only option to be successful from a distance.

Re: Peo And Employee Leasing Companies?
I work with BBSI and have been very happy with them. I was reluctant to place clients with a PEO but they provided a significant savings (WC, payroll) so the insured wanted to give it a shot. That was 4 years ago and things are still running smoothly. PEO's are not the answer for everybody but they ...

Re: What will it take to Sell?
There is movement. I suspect something about your presentation or offer is not appealing to them. Do you have the money to buy them outright or are you a green agent that expects them to finance the deal through an earn out. Look at what you are offering and truely have to offer to a sunset agent tr...

Re: SIAA vs. Cluster?
I looked at every option available when going out on my own two years ago... I ended up with cluster based out of Northern, CA. SIAA seemed like an option but you are only as good as the MA you are assigned to and the MA I was supposed to affiliate with was not reponsive. They were better than the v...

Re: Remote access for outside vendors / Good or Bad
Might make sense for somebody busting at the seams but if you still need the same number of CSR's and your bookkeeper... I don't see where the significant savings are coming from.

Re: Remote access for outside vendors / Good or Bad
Outsourcing is one of those things that sounds great but the actual implementation is something different IMO. The independent agency system is driven by customer relationships and all of my AE's are extremely good at getting personal with our clients. I think if I switched to a system where they re...

Re: Anyone else sick of this Michael Jans clown?
goredsox,
if what you are doing isn't working then you need to try something. I am not saying Jans is the answer to all of your problems but if you need some marketing ideas and some training for your CSR's to become more sales oriented... he is a solid option.

I don't do a whole lot of trucking... but I do have three fairly good sized fleets (25-40 units) placed through Deep South.

Is anybody monitoring this site? Can we ban this guy and track his IP to avoid a repeat?
