I work with a lot of agencies. I have seen this the most with State Farm. Husband and wife with side by side physical locations. State Farm obviously had to know they were doing it. We even had State Farm agents directly quoting against independents. That was back in the late 90's and State Farm eve...

Also Needing

If you find any carriers in the midwest, please post online. I would be very interested in contacting them. A number of counties here do not participate but are in designated flood plains.

I am interested in standard and non-standard.

Thank You

I think that her refusal to sign a noncompete says it all. She is letting you train her and pay her way, then she will go out on her own. As someone has already said here, go see an attorney immediately. I think you need to ask her to leave and not contact any of your clients. In the future, I would...

Isn't cutting somones wages like that an actionable item under employment law?

Your just not allowed to go around cutting peoples wages by half so you don't have to pay unemployment (when they quit).

This seems to be basically 'terminating' the employees so you can milk the business and let it rot.

What I have seen, is that NCs stand up in if for example you are the manager of a gas station and you quit to work across the street, but not if you work 5 miles away on the other side of town. So it could keep you from prospecting in an certain radius around the agency, like maybe two miles, but no...

You are right, in that it is to take the human element out. The two biggest issues are cost and segmentation. Human time is expensive and prone to errors. A computer will process 100,000 applications the same way every time, a human will not. Segmentation is breaking data down into blocks of pricing...

There is this wonderful thing called a search engine...Google, plugging in Texas, credit, and study yielded http://www.tdi.state.tx.us/reports/credit3.html as the first hit. ..the study looked at data for 2,000,000 policyholders...The study methods, findings and conclusion were peer reviewed by two ...

There have been extensive studies done on credit, the biggest being by the Texas Department of Insurance. To say its junk science is sticking your head in the ground and not reading whats out there. I have personally seen the data compiled by doing a claims vs score study on three large carriers. Th...

Wasn't there some buzz in the Journal or somewhere that they were outsourcing the adjusters to the same company as State Farm?

1. Yeah, maybe a Farmers agent did write it, but not necessarily with Farmers. I work with a lot of carriers and Farmers agents are a large source of new business. I know of one carrier where 70% of its book is from Farmers agents. 2. There is a change in the philosophy. There is a write it now, und...

Loss Cost Data Availability

I am looking for data on loss costs. I have contacted AAIS and they have rate pages made up to deviate from. I know ISO also has rate pages, but this is not what we want. I would like to find data that would show something like this: 1.00 Asphalt Shingle 1.20 Metal 1.24 Rolled Roofing 1.22 Seam Meta...

Thank You Cathiea, The problem is that I can't ask the underwriter. None of the companies I work with do this. I am trying to figure out if any companies even do it. That way we can put the procedures in place to deal with it before we are presented with it. Do you know of a specific company that do...

I am trying to find out if any companies would actually rate a BOP as a split class when there is a single business owner and the business has more than one class such as manufacturing and retail. For example a clothing shop with retail on the ground floor and manufacturing the clothing on the secon...

So,

No one knows of a company that rates more than one class per location? Say list the %class for example:

40% restaurant, ISO 3xxx
60% retail, 5xxx
by revenue or number of employees.

For a combination rating.

Thank You

Ok,

What about more than one class per location? Does that happen?

Thanks!
