Re: Meals on wheels - insured with Farmers currently
Meytai, Not sure what State you are in, but in California, you have to request the loss runs from your insured and the insured in turn must contact Farmers for the runs. By law, they have to provide these within 10 days to the insured. I work with Philadelphia and you can ask them for a quote subjec...

Need Market for a Local Musical Group in CA
Hi Everyone, I'm an agent in CA and need coverage for a local band going on tour across the United States starting February 17th and ending March 24th. They are considered an "Alternative" rock band - don't need A & B nor "Mosh Pits" - exclusions for these coverages are OK. L...

Re: Should I get Cal. Low Cost Auto Ins. in our office?
Roy, It looks like we are all in agreement here. I agree - too many headaches. A ton of paperwork and most of the time, the clients that are inquiring, do not even qualify and those that do qualify let their policies lapse....If you already have something comperable with less work involved, I would ...

Re: Can you get different rates for same insurer?
First of all, no question is "dumb". Second of all, I totally agree with Sandra and OCBroker, but I'd like to take it one step further, though. Not sure which state you are in, but in California, if a broker/agent submits an applicaiton for a quote with company "A", and another b...

Re: CA Auto paperwork retention
Although our carriers are attempting to remain paperless, it is our agency that must keep hard-copy files on all of our auto insurance clients. We keep the original signed Acord (or company specific) application, Signed UM disclosure, Community Service Statement, any driver exclusion forms along wit...

Re: CA-Guaranteed Replacement Cost
I hear that Century National writes Guaranteed Repalcement cost, however, the house must be 20 years old or newer. but I'm with "yoyo".....why would you need more than 50% if you are properly insuring the risk? Or is it that you may just want to start writing guaranteed R/C because of the ...

Re: Live Music venue in CA with open A&B claim
I'm an agent in California, too....what I can't understand is how is the insured operating LEGALLY as a bar that admits ALL ages? I am aware of 18 & older clubs, but not a club that would allow ALL ages....are you sure your client is legitimate? Just with that information alone, I can't see any ...

Is Century National Insurance Co. an option in Florida? I use them here in California through an MGA. Great coverages and rates!

Wow, D! Been there....done that....SO many times! Looks like she JUST found out that Products/Completed Ops. were not inlcuded in her policy. Probably because she needed a COI for one of these events and the Cert. Holder actually read the coverages, noting that Products/Completed Ops were "not ...

Re: What is your broker of record policy?
Personally, I don't like using BOR's. The only time we use one is if the client is totally dissatisfied with the other agent/broker and begs us on bended knee. Probably only used 3 or 4 in the last 6 years or so. If we do utilize a BOR, we still have the client complete an "updated" applic...

Re: Open Office Next to Geico
Don't get too excited yet.....GEICO's lease may have a "no compete" clause written into it. (We demanded this when we rented our office). Unless you offer products that GEICO doesn't (Commercial P & C) I would tread carefully.....Good Luck!!

Re: Privacy Law situation
It sounds like the carrier does not have a named driver exclusion form that can be endorsed onto this policy, therefore, forcing them to underwrite the son on the dad's policy because of the sheer possibility that the son may have access to dad's car since he is living under his roof. I agree with t...
