Re: Retail to Wholesale???
After several factors came into play, I stayed on the retail side, however; I moved shops due to market access. Unfortunately, after being at the new shop for a little over 4 months, I believe the change was made in vain... The wholesale gig that I had lined up was a little light on the compensation...

Re: Retail to Wholesale???
Ladybroker & Eagleeye - I appreciate the feedback from you both. Ladybroker - the good news is that the opportunity with the wholesaler is on the revenue side. In fact, it would be a commission only position (after a few months) so I would be writing my own ticket and paycheck (in essence). I wo...

Re: Retail to Wholesale???
Thanks, Erik. Half of what I used to place was in the E&S/CAT marketplace, so I have a good idea of what I'm getting into. However; I have had the opportunity to work for some of the top retail shops in the nation - what worries me is that I know what "else" is out there and who I migh...

Re: WC for Companies with 0 Employees
In lieu of a comp policy, take a look at occ acc and see if this will satisfy the certificate holder. Occ Acc is very common in the transportation/trucking world and can be found in a slue of independents or even online. I did not search for a PA specific solution, however; a good explanation of thi...

How about the LRO that we wrote with an "office" exposure on the app. Had a fire this year, building is completely destroyed. Reason for the fire? A tire retread facility was operating in that location and overheated, ensuing, said fire. I don't know what kind of office you work in, howeve...

Tallahassee Opportunities
I am considering a move to the Tallahassee area from the Midwest. I have been in the insurance game for almost 10 years now all on the agency side... Started out with State Farm, went to the largest privately-held brokerage/agency in the US, produced on my own for a few years and am currently with a...
