Re: Brooke Corp

Cash, We do not reply for several reasons. 1) We are in the insurance business. 2) We do not want to be sued for slander. 3) We are busy selling insurance. If you are a franchisee, I suggest you speak with your attorney about any disputes you have with the company. Caveat Emptor MI INS GUY ***I saw...

Not broke, just not paying

Hutch, thanks for the reply. Looks like over 800 people have read this post and you are the only reply. I don't think Brooke is broke but I am puzzled at why they wouldn't pay up the amounts that they clearly owe. We both know the game can't be continued for long when they play like this. The SEC or...

PURCHASE

SAND-DAWG- HUTCH GAVE SOME GREAT INFO. IF IT IS A CORP, PROCEED WITH SOME CAUTION AS WITH STOCK SALES, THERE CAN BE MAJOR TAX ISSUES. I READ SOME OF THE POSTING ON VALUATION AND I THINK INFO GIVEN MIGHT BE A BIT LIGHT FOR YOUR STATE. I HAVE BOUGHT A FEW AGENCIES AND LIVE IN YOUR STATE SO SHOOT ME A ...

What's really going on with Brooke Corp?

Agents and brokers- I have been hearing some interesting stuff regarding the Brooke Corporation. Recently dubbed the 22nd largest agency in the US. On the yahoo message boards under finance and their symbol bxxx, there is some very interesting reading. I would recommend any person thinking about buy...

Agency Management Systems

Hi Sanddog, I use TAM and have used other systems in the past. Nobody like paying the high price of Applied. Bottom-line is they are the best and the industry standard. As time goes by and you think about selling your agency, an Applied agency is easier to move. I buy agencies and I always hope to f...

Thanks for the tips- The outsourcing seems like a great idea but the volumne I have it would be too expensive. I figure the average file has close to 30 pages and @ .15 a page, each file would run about $4.50 and with 18,000+/- files, my investment would be $81,000.00 It will take me a little longer...

My scanning system is in place already, my real question had to do with what paperwork to scan. Do I really need to scan everything as so much is available from the carriers websites or being downloaded. I have been skipping all billing notices and old lapse/reinstatement notices etc. I figure I hav...

I have just started with the paperless process by scanning. We now have to decide what all we need to scan to not undermine ourselves later. We use Applied and receive daily downloads from approx. 50% of the carriers we use. Scanning is very time consuming and some files are pretty thick. Any sugges...

No need to be down, this is fixable. I don't really believe in the cluster concept. I feel this was set up for lazy people who aren't willing to work to get companies. Your return for taking the easy way is less money in your pocket as you have to pay for being lazy. I think if you put some effort i...

I have seen many preferred carriers offering leads for sale. Has anyone had any success with these programs? If yes, with which carrier.

I saw this was one of the most read topics so I read further. We are a million + producer with Progressive and I feel they are more devoted to the independant agent now than ever. The Drive program will be successful as it will be ran just as Progressive is now and that isn't that bad of a model sin...

Hot tip,
Have the client pay a minimum downpayment on the new policy. This will give you time to work out the money details with the impound account. This works like a champ and everyone is happy.

Applied TAM online is awesome. I chose the online version as I can access it from anywhere that has a DSL connection plus they handle all of the back-ups. The system has been very reliable. If you have a question, you call tech support and usually that goes fairly smoothly. This is one area where th...
