Re: Anyone with opinion on EZBuy electronic signatures
#1 An agent should NEVER NEVER NEVER use an electronic signature for an initial offer of coverage. You should always meet the person, verify their identity, and get a wet, or in person handwritten electronic signature. #2 Once the initial verification of identity is done, then you can offer a custom...

WordPress Forums Problems
Guys at Insurance Journal, Thank you for switching back to this forum software. The WordPress look and feel is ABSOLUTELY horrendous. AND, it obviously does not work. Please give up on the WordPress for the website as well as it looks totally unprofessional and is not nearly as good as the old site....

Re: Farmers Refuses to Pay Botched Auto Repair
I find that Farmers agents are generally some of the most competent out there but.... They are also one of the most active captive agents writing INDEPENDENT business, more so than State Farm or any other. I think we all know why. FYI, it has been the recent experience of my peers that GEICO pays cl...

Which is exactly what I did...
GEICO was half the price for the same coverage.

Re: Farmers Refuses to Pay Botched Auto Repair
Sacman, Great ideas! I hadn't thought of the larceny angle - felony - restriction on firearms. That might just work! I would agree with you about Farmers EXCEPT, the agent persuaded me to go to this shop instead of the dealer, it was my choice but agents should be very very careful about making reco...

Re: Farmers Refuses to Pay Botched Auto Repair
1. It was the agent that recommended the shop. I asked to have the car fixed at a Farmer's approved shop and there was none in the area. I would have taken it to the local Chevy/Pontiac dealer shop if not for the agent's recommendation. The dealer guarrantees their work and is still in business. 2. ...

Farmers Refuses to Pay Botched Auto Repair
Guys, Got a collectors Firebird that was damaged $4500 in a wreck. Farmers wrote a check and recommended a shop. There was no Farmers approved shop in the area. The shop kept the car five months and the agent had to threaten the shop to get the car back. When the car got back, it was supposed to hav...

This is the landmark report that studied 2,000,000 persons. This is valid and NO AMOUNT of your BS will make it otherwise, and yes, we did land on the moon, and the earth is round.

Re: Pay As You Go rating
I second that, There is a lot of data that has been thoroughly reviewed/vetted by extremely smart people to support this. The market rules and the market proves that credit use is a valid factor in rating. If it were not, you would see companies touting not using it and being more profitable than ot...

Re: Pay As You Go rating
I think the whole argument is silly and has no standing. Credit is a proven valid factor in future loss calculations and has nothing to do with PAYG as an form of policy as far as I know.

Re: Agency Management System
Did you have support during the past 4 years? In contract law, there is a concept of quid pro quo, that is you are only required to pay for something if you get something. If you canceled support, and still used the product, then obviously you should not be paying for support. You were however using...

Re: Agency Management System
If it runs on 2000, it should run on XP. You can use XP as a server although only for internal small agencies. If it runs on XP, it will run on Windows 7 in virtual mode or XP mode. A good software guy can copy the system over and get it all set up for you but it may take a couple of days.

Re: Massachusetts Credit Scoring
I do know of a few companies that have violated the rules. EVERYTIME they have been spanked solidly and quietly by the DOI. I would suggest that you call the DOI and complain. As far as NCOIL goes, Google is your friend, and will give you it.

Re: Massachusetts Credit Scoring
First, the NCOIL rules which all DOI's follow that I know of, specifically state that an applicant may not be rejected solely for a credit score. There is a list of states allowing the use of credit scoring, Googling has failed me today but it exists. A simple call to the MA DOI should get you the a...

Re: Excluded Driver Surcharge
SankyKid, I would be VERY surprised if this were the case. I don't know of any DOI or legislature that would 'punish' a driver for being a member of a household. Imagine a scenario where there is a large household of 10 drivers, each with a different company insurance. If the insured's policy were $...
