Our new Hartford Commercial Lines Marketing rep (Small Commercial) has zero insurance experience.
With Hartford, it's not really about insurance anymore, it's about stock price and money and has been for awhile.

Re: Nationwide
Allied Insurance has been a player in the commercial marketplace in Arizona off and on for many years. Scottsdale Insurance company definitely has its place throughout the country. Aren't they both commercial limbs for Nationwide? On the personal side, I can't have respect for any company who's nati...

Re: ACA/ObamaCare Open Enrollment 2015
Sounds like it's worth a try. My problem is that I'm contracted with 7 different carriers and most of them are as a sub-producer through an MGA (I have my own code for 5 of them). I'm just concerned that the carriers won't properly assign an application to me. I already signed up so I can't use your...

Tell me more about health Sherpa. Are you on the $25 per app plan? Is it worth it? What does it do for you?

Re: Insured to replacment cost or use extended endorsment
So your policy has $623,000 + 50%? So your total potential payout for coverage A is substantially higher. MSB/Boeckh are all over the place. Their software is tweaked differently for different companies so if Company B is willing to write the property at $400k + 50%, there may never be an issue (if ...

Re: Customer Claim Satisfaction Info - High Net Worth Insure
Usually reports like that such as JD Power are done for lines where the sampling is much higher. There just aren't as many "high net worth" policies written for a non-partisan entity to do such a poll.

Re: What's hot' right now.
SECURA Specialty is hot with writing fitness clubs in WI, IL, MN, ND, IA, IN, MI, KY, AZ and CO. They kick the pants of the other carriers with coverage and price. And they usually don't ask for loss runs so make sure and go there if you have problems. Do it now because they won't be competitive fo...

Re: The next five years
I don't want hard copies of policies!! I am a small 7 person agency and we went "less-paper" in 2007. We have no filing cabinets. I want PDF's whenever possible. We email our clients their PDF and politely ask them if they want a hard copy. Very few clients want hard copy. If you're talkin...

Re: Big Independent Group
I would like to start with how disappointed our association is with the Insurance Journal that they will let anyone just post anything on this form. It does not matter if is has any merit or truth to what an association has done for the industry. :( So you think the insurance journal should pay som...

Re: Best Ways to Market a Niche Program to Brokers
FYI - I hate spam marketing and will not contact anyone that sends me spam. I wouldn't think many agents run across these types of accounts very often and if they do they don't really want a new carrier/mga for it. You're going to need to find someone who wants to actively market the program. And si...

Do you carry E&O insurance for your CA operation? Why would that not cover your business you place in NY?

Re: Who's your favorite personal lines carrier?
I have Encompass and they are a good company. They are not as competitive as I would like for an "Average" risk - $175k-$250k home, 2 cars etc.
I agree on the Travelers comment.
