Quickfile is about a $1000 per year and that comes with everything such as accounting, downloads, Acord Forms, document manager, etc. It is internet based so you don't have to worry about backing up. ABS is not that much less once you add on everything. Also, ABS does not have carrier downloads. I s...

Steve, ABS is a good product for Farmers agents. However it is limited. For an independent agency you would want to go with Quickfile. I have the Enterprise version which is internet based. You don't have to worry about backing up and you can access your client's information from any computer with i...

I would not want to be a captive. However, to answer your question I would choose the Allied captive appointment. With their contract your only captive on the personal lines and they don't have life quotas. Their profit bonus is very good also.

Based on the information Scuba provided I would go with the personal lines agency. Scuba says he has been doing personal lines for years. I would not want to let thoughs relationships go. I would work your dead files from Farmers and any leads the agency provides. Once your non-compete has expired w...

It is a must for retail agencies have to have a website.

I don't do business with spamers. I would expect clients not to do business with me either if I was a spammer.

It is a no brainer. Stick with the personal lines. You will make a lot more money as long as you have good markets.

I like to go to classes that I may get something out of. For example: an insurance company sponsored class where they are review a new product and you receive ce credits for attending. I will do a few of thoses and get the rest of the credits from an online course.

Wouldn't it be interesting to find out that Apple did this on purpose to get rid of 800 bad employees? If they did that would be genius. But you are absolutely right Scott. I would ace the employees that stole too.

I have had a different experience with Allied with claims and they are top notch in Ca.

I would recommend Safeco, Travelers, and Kemper also.

It is not hard to get appointed with them as long as you meet their requirements. They want to see a proven track record of production, low loss ratio, and the ability to run a business. The experience I have had with them is they want you to be committed to them and they want you to make them your ...

I would absolutely NOT recommend your friend go to Farmers. They have a horrible reputation, bad products and the worst claims service. Have your friend visit a few websites like farmersinsurancegroupsucks.com and farmers-online.com. Have your friend review Farmers products. In California their Auto...

I started this agency a couple of years ago and I am totally paperless. I don't have any paper files. All you need is a computer, printer, scanner, and online agency management system. Then you can view your files from any computer from anywhere.
