WC for a plumbing company - CA

Post by edmundich »

I urgently need to place a WC for a client of mine. Class codes are: 5183, 5187, 8810. Very high mod due unfortunate and unforseen incindent. Current incumbent is AIG. No PEOs please. Anyone know a market?

Thanks

What do you consider a high mod (or what is the applicant's mod)?

Aren't all claims unforseen and unfortunate?

A high mod is 1.8, There is one claim and it's not realted to safety or risk management violations. That what i meant by unforseen. Most of the WC claims are actually related to safety negligence

State Fund is obvious choice - maybe they are the incumbent?
First Comp, Comp West, Ace, Zenith....
WIth AIG - are they with Granite States whose rating tanked last year?
Try going through a wholesaler to access more markets - Commodore in Emeryville is one.

If the payroll is over $100,000 Smart Choice has an A rated Work Comp company that writes construction accounts including roofers at 20 to 40% less than State Fund. They also write other hard to place biz like Tree trimmers, Convalescent hospitals etc. and new ventures. Call 559-799-4922
