USI Appoints Senior Vice President of Personal Lines in New Jersey

USI Insurance Services announced today that James P. Kane will join the firm as senior vice president of personal lines effective Jan. 1, 2014. Kane will be responsible for USI’s nationwide personal insurance practice and will be located at the Mount Laurel, N.J., office.

For over 25 years Kane has held positions with local and regional insurance agencies. Before joining USI, he was president of HUB International Personal Insurance and, prior to that, he was senior vice president of PLI Brokerage, which was sold to HUB International in 2005. Kane has also worked at CBIZ Insurance as vice president of personal insurance and at Sigel Insurance Group as a vice president.

Kane has also held teaching positions at the Insurance Society of Philadelphia and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. As a faculty member from 1995-2005, he taught a Personal Risk Management Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) course as well as edited the homeowner’s chapters on personal risk management in the course’s textbook. Kane holds both the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation and Certified Risk Managers (CRM) designations from the National Alliance.
