Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Modern Desktop Engineer to join our enterprise technology team in a highly regulated financial and insurance services environment. You will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing secure, scalable modern workplace solutions to meet business and compliance requirements. This role requires deep expertise in device and identity management, hybrid cloud infrastructure, and virtualization technologies, with a focus on security, performance, and end-user experience.

Compensation offered for this role is $92,560.00 - 166,465.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Modern Desktop Engineer to join our enterprise technology team in a highly regulated financial and insurance services environment. You will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing secure, scalable modern workplace solutions to meet business and compliance requirements. This role requires deep expertise in device and identity management, hybrid cloud infrastructure, and virtualization technologies, with a focus on security, performance, and end-user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect, deploy, and manage Microsoft Intune for device provisioning, configuration, and compliance across Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android platforms.
Implement and maintain co-management with Microsoft SCCM to enable smooth transitions and device management.
Consult on Azure AD / Entra ID solutions including Conditional Access, enterprise application registrations, and identity protection policies.
Maintain and optimize federated identity configurations with a strong understanding of SSO, SAML, OAuth2, and hybrid identity solutions specifically regarding Windows Hello for Business and jamf Connect.
Administer and optimize Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments, including session host management, user profile handling, and scaling strategies.
Implement Citrix Storefront hosted managed desktops.
Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure endpoints adhere to organizational policies.
Troubleshoot complex device management, identity, and access issues across multiple platforms.
Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
Document architectural designs, processes, and operational procedures.
Required Skills & Experience:
5+ years of experience in enterprise-level desktop engineering or endpoint management.
Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune and mobile device management (MDM) across all major platforms.
Strong expertise in SCCM co-management and transitioning devices from traditional to modern management.
Proven experience with Azure AD/Entra, including Conditional Access, role-based access control, and enterprise app integrations.
Advanced understanding of federated identity systems and authentication protocols.
Hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop and Citrix Storefront.
Solid grasp of PowerShell scripting for automation and reporting.
Familiarity with security frameworks and endpoint protection best practices.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
