Consumer United, a Boston-based online insurance agency and insurance exchange facility, announced the hiring of Joshua Levine as president of operations.From 1999 to 2006, Levine was the chief technology and operations officer of E*TRADE, where he was responsible for global technology, operations and customer service. Prior to that, he was a managing director in technology at Morgan Stanley and at Deutsche Bank.
Founded in 2007, Consumer United partners with more than a dozen major carriers, leveraging its web and mobile-based services to acquire and service customers. The firm has raised more than $50 million in financing earlier this year to expand its operations nationally. It currently has some 300 employees.
