Online Insurance Agency Consumer United Names President of Operations in Boston

Consumer United, a Boston-based online insurance agency and insurance exchange facility, announced the hiring of Joshua Levine as president of operations.

From 1999 to 2006, Levine was the chief technology and operations officer of E*TRADE, where he was responsible for global technology, operations and customer service. Prior to that, he was a managing director in technology at Morgan Stanley and at Deutsche Bank.

Founded in 2007, Consumer United partners with more than a dozen major carriers, leveraging its web and mobile-based services to acquire and service customers. The firm has raised more than $50 million in financing earlier this year to expand its operations nationally. It currently has some 300 employees.
