Guy Carpenter & Company LLC, a global risk and reinsurance intermediary division of Marsh & McLennan Companies, appointed Peter Barr as senior vice president. Barr is based in Portland, Maine.
With more than 30 years of experience in the re/insurance sector, Barr brings extensive knowledge of the industry and an expansive network to his new role, Guy Carpenter stated.
Prior to joining Guy Carpenter, Barr spent 28 years at Mutual Reinsurance Bureau (MRB) in Cherry Valley, Ill., most recently as senior vice president. In that role, he was responsible for the underwriting and production of regional property/casualty business throughout the New England and Mid-Atlantic regions. He began his career with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in Boston.
