A.M. Best Co. announced that it has recently integrated its Asia/Pacific insurance rating and information operations to serve Japan, Australia and New Zealand under A.M. Best Asia-Pacific Ltd. in Hong Kong.
“Companies in Japan, Australia and New Zealand will now receive interaction and analytical coverage that can only result from close geographic proximity, and which is already experienced by companies throughout Asia,” said the bulletin. “The integration results from significant expansion in business operations and the development of a high-quality, indigenous analytical team in Hong Kong. The regional office provides A.M. Best with a strong platform for maintaining analytic leadership and consistency in its local business practices.”
Best’s regional rating and insurance/reinsurance information includes Australia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. They are seen as having “large, dynamic insurance, reinsurance and financial services markets,” that “benefit from local expertise and service built upon global rating coverage, news publications, research and data provided by the A.M. Best Company.”
The management team of A.M. Best Asia-Pacific Ltd. is under the direction of Simon Hu, General Manager. Reporting to Mr. Hu is Jeffrey Liew, Deputy General Manager. Moung Mo Lee is the senior member of the analytic team based in Hong Kong.
