TDECU Insurance Agency LLC has acquired two independent insurance agencies: Assurance Insurance Agency Inc. (Assurance) based in Bellville, Texas, and Burridge Insurance Agency Inc. (Burridge) based in Angleton, Texas.
These agency acquisitions are on the heels of TDECU Insurance’s purchase of Associated Insurance Agency Inc., which closed on Jan. 3, 2012. The newest acquisitions closed on Feb. 2.
Assurance Insurance Agency specializes in commercial insurance for small and mid-sized businesses and has built a solid reputation while serving the Texas business community since 1995.
Burridge Insurance Agency, with expertise is in life and health insurance and employee benefits, has operated since 2005 as a family-owned independent insurance agency serving Brazoria County.
H.W. Kaufman, Chesterfield Group, Van Wagoner
The H.W. Kaufman Financial Group, parent company of wholesale broker and underwriting manager Burns & Wilcox, has purchased Chesterfield Group Ltd., a London-based insurance broker and underwriting organization with companies in the United Kingdom, United States and Canada.
The acquisition expands Kaufman Financial Group’s international insurance presence in the specialty insurance marketplace.
Included in the acquired group of companies is Van Wagoner Companies Inc., a managing general agency in Dallas, Texas. It will now operate as Burns & Wilcox.
Chesterfield Group Ltd.’s principal operating company is Chesterfield Insurance Brokers Ltd. Domiciled in the United Kingdom, the company is the group’s Lloyd’s of London broker.
Four South Central independent insurance agencies joined the Strategic Insurance Agency Alliance in January.
The new agencies are: Iron Property Insurance Agency of Houston; Parks Agency of Big Spring, Texas; Huckleberry Insurance Agency of West Monroe, La; and Keegan Insurance of Bastrop, Texas.
SIAA members wrote more than $780 million in new written premiums in 2011. Since its inception in 1995, SIAA has signed more than 4,000 new members.
