Saw a report online this weekend – said Get out of Louisiana !
apparently this salt cavern extends across the whole state and further, and the sinkhole is continuing to grow. Some are even saying the instability could trigger another great New Madrid earthquake. Prayers for everyone impacted by this disaster.

Being a resident from the mandatory evacuation zone at Bayou Corne, I am skeptical of just what kind of buyout offers Texas Brine will make to us residents. It has been mentioned of possible reasonable offers to be made. Question: What is reasonable when factoring in the possible loss of our home and the misery that we have be put through these eight months. Evacuated from our homes, having to try and find a place to stay, then those with school children diligently getting their children to school from where ever they are staying, not knowing just what is in the air, in the water and underground around their homes and if those homes will every be habitable again. I for one was planning on retiring at this home and enjoying the bayou life of fishing and the quiet serenity of the bayou life. Now all that is on the borderline of being destroyed for me. At 70 yrs old it is tough thinking about having to start all over again at my age. How much are these damages worth? To Texas Bine, probably not worth much. They should really be made to pay for the mistakes they have made and the destruction they have caused to our lives and not just the price of a house.
