Georgia Insurance Commissioner John Oxendine announced that an Adel woman has been arrested and charged with filing a fraudulent insurance claim.
Teresa Kay Griffin, 33, was arrested and booked into the Cook County Jail. Griffin has been charged with one count of insurance fraud and forgery, a felony under Georgia law.
Oxendine said Griffin allegedly filed fraudulent medical bills to Georgia Farm Bureau Insurance Company.
Felony insurance fraud carries a penalty of two to 10 years in prison or a fine of up to $10,000.
