J. Smith Lanier & Co. has appointed Rosemary Blair as the new senior vice president of its International Practice. Based out of J. Smith Lanier’s Atlanta office, Blair will assist producers with their international clients, as well as help manage global partnerships.

Blair joins J. Smith Lanier from Marsh USA in Atlanta, where she was vice president in Global Property Practice. She brings 22 years of experience with global risk management and national brokerage clients.

J. Smith Lanier & Co., headquartered in West Point, Georgia, has more than 500 employees in 18 branch offices.

Phillip Crone has joined The McCart Group in Georgia as managing director of business development and growth. Crone will work with the sales team to strengthen client relationships and build industry partnerships.

The McCart Group, located in Duluth, is a risk and insurance consulting firm and independent insurance brokerage.

Crone sold computer hardware from 1985 to 1997 and grew a $20 million computer supply company. After selling the company in 1997, he spent the next eight years playing of golf and wrote a motivational book. Most recently, Crone served as vice president of sales in Atlanta for Marsh USA.

Aon Risk Solutions has appointed Christopher Baudouin as chief executive officer of the Aon Global Client Network.

Most recently, Baudouin served in a dual capacity as president and CEO of Aon Risk Solutions Mexico and chief operating officer of Aon Risk Solutions in Latin America. In his new role, he assumes responsibility for the international Aon Global Client Network team, which has 1,200 people.

Prior to joining Aon, Baudouin was CEO of Alexander & Alexander Mexico and served as managing director and senior partner responsible for all operations in Mexico. The company said Baudouin has relocated from Mexico to Aon’s global headquarters in Chicago.

Florida-based homeowners insurance provider, Security First Insurance Co., has appointed Werner E. Kruck as chief operating officer and Marilyn Reynolds as vice president of operations.

Kruck began his insurance career in 1975. He joined Security First in 2008.

Reynolds began her insurance career in 1996. Security First started in April 2005 with Reynolds joining one year later as director of operations.

Towers Watson named Brendan Osean as vice president, property insurance, in its insurance brokerage business. In his role, Osean will be responsible for overseeing the design and placement of commercial property insurance programs for U.S.-based and international companies, as well as those firms that maintain U.S., Bermuda and European captives. He is based in Towers Watson’s Parsippany, N.J., office.

Osean comes to Towers Watson from Wells Fargo Insurance Services (WFIS), where, as New York property practice leader, he led the marketing, placement and servicing of commercial insurance for a number of firms, including several Fortune 500 companies. Prior to joining WFIS, he was group leader of the New Jersey property and international practice for Marsh, part of the Marsh & McLennan Cos.

W. R. Berkley Corp. in Greenwich, Conn. has appointed Peter L. Kamford, senior vice president, to a newly created position. Kamford’s new responsibility will be to co-head the placement of the company’s ceded reinsurance programs along with senior vice president Robert W. Gosselink.

The company also named Philip S. Welt as senior vice president. Welt will have responsibility for the company’s operating units previously overseen by Kamford.
