Progressive Corp. announced that Glenn Renwick, president and chief executive officer, will retire after more than 15 years as CEO and almost 30 years with the company, effective July 1. He will continue as executive chairman of the board.

Tricia Griffith, currently Personal Lines chief operating officer, will succeed Renwick as CEO and president and will join the board of directors.

Renwick joined Ohio-based Progressive in 1986. He was named CEO of insurance operations in 2000 and has served as the CEO of the parent company since 2001.

Griffith joined Progressive as a claims representative in 1988 and has served as Personal Lines chief operating officer since April 2015. She held several managerial positions in the claims division before being named chief human resources officer in 2002. In 2008, she returned to claims as the group president, overseeing all claims functions.

Columbus, Ohio-based Grange Insurance added Terri Dalenta as executive vice president, chief financial officer.

Dalenta will lead Grange’s financial management, enterprise risk management and investments, as well as maintain the company’s financial strength.

She has more 25 years in the property/casualty and life insurance industry, and most recently served as SVP of Property Product Management for Allstate Insurance in Chicago.

Dalenta also previously served as EVP and chief risk officer for Aviva North, and as chief risk officer and corporate chief actuary for Safeco Insurance.

Chicago-based insurer CNA named David Hallstrom to assistant vice president and industry leader, Cyber Insurance. In this role, Hallstrom is responsible for CNA cyber product management.

Hallstrom has more than two decades of experience in technology, cyber and information risk insurance. He is frequent speaker and blog author on cyber risk. Prior to joining CNA in 2008, he held management positions at Risk Placement Services, Zurich North America, Near North National Group and Aon.

Lockton Benefit Group, based in Kanas City, Mo., added Dr. Ronald S. Leopold to its national Lockton Health Risk Solutions practice.

As practice leader, Dr. Leopold will combine his clinical knowledge with Lockton’s proprietary InfoLock data intelligence platform to improve employers’ abilities to identify trends and respond to what’s driving the cost of health. He will also work closely with Lockton’s client service teams to advise employers on developing targeted health management programs to address the continuum of health issues across their working population.

Dr. Leopold previously served as national practice leader – Health Outcomes with Willis Towers Watson and as national health and productivity practice leader for Wells Fargo Insurance Services. He also worked as the national medical director for MetLife.

The Main Street America Group named Scott Simmons assistant secretary in its Omaha, Neb., office.

Simmons reports to Dan Gaynor, the company’s vice president and head of commercial lines. He is responsible for leading Main Street America’s Austin Mutual Insurance Co. agribusiness operations.

Simmons also directs product development and management, underwriting and loss control, as well as field marketing and producer management of the company’s agribusiness function.

Simmons joined Main Street America in 2015 from Berkley North Pacific LLC in Bellevue, Wash., where he was executive agribusiness underwriter. Simmons previously held agribusiness management and underwriting roles at Penn Millers Insurance Co., Unigard Insurance and Grange Insurance Association.

Jacksonville, Fla.-based Main Street America is a mutual insurance holding company that writes business through its nine property/casualty insurance carriers.

Kemper Corp. in Chicago added Charles T. Brooks as senior vice president and chief information officer.

Brooks will report to Joseph P. Lacher Jr., Kemper’s president and CEO. The company’s information systems executives will report to Brooks, including the property/casualty, life/health and corporate services teams.

Brooks previously served as the global operations officer for ACE Group in Philadelphia. Prior to that role he led member and plan sponsor services for Aetna.

In earlier leadership roles, he was senior vice president of operations and chief information officer for Travelers Personal Insurance, partner at Accenture and captain in the United States Army.
