Brightway Insurance, a national property/casualty insurance retailer selling through a network of franchised independent agencies throughout the country, has added new agency owners in North Carolina and Florida.

New owners have opened personal lines agencies in the following cities:

  • Charlie Bourgeois, Charlotte, N.C.
  • Alex De Jorge, Kissimmee, Fla.
  • Tayler Harding, Orlando, Fla.
  • Rich Saltzman, Tampa, Fla.
  • Jay Kaiser, Miramar, Fla.

The Brightway model offers independent agents access to insurance companies. Brightway’s system provides support to its personal lines agency owners, including systems, telephony, marketing, accounting and all service after the sale of a policy through its home office in Jacksonville, Fla.

Insurors of Tennessee has added Ellie Small to the association staff as membership specialist.

Small will manage the continuing education program, coordinate course registration and provide administrative support to the Insurors office.

Small previously worked for Uber, where she was a partner support representative.

Insurors of Tennessee is a trade association that represents over 500 Tennessee independent insurance agencies.

Oscar Seikaly has purchased the remaining stake in Florida-Based NSI Insurance Group from long-time partner and company founder George Nenezian, who concurrently announced his retirement.

Seikaly, who worked alongside Nenezian for more than 25 years, will become chairman of NSI Insurance Group.

In addition, Jim McCue, former managing director and head of Florida Operations at Marsh, will join the company as chief operating officer.

Nenezian founded the firm in 1958, and the company has steadily grown to be the one of the largest privately held insurance agencies in Florida.

NSI Insurance Group offers commercial and personal insurance as well as employee benefits throughout the United States and in 40 countries.

Accident Fund Insurance Company of America announced the appointment of Dan Hassenzahl to regional director, Southern region. In this role, Hassenzahl is responsible for underwriting and marketing in Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas and Georgia. Hassenzahl joined the company in 2005 as a claims examiner.

Accident Fund Insurance Company of America is a member of AF Group. All policies are underwritten by a licensed insurer subsidiary of AF Group.

Liberty International Underwriters (LIU) has named Casey Hartley as U.S. General Liability product line leader. Based in Atlanta, Hartley will have responsibility for the technical underwriting, portfolio performance and overall product strategy for the primary general liability portfolio.

LIU’s General Liability team specializes in difficult-to-place risks including CGL and product liability.

Hartley joins the team from LIU parent Liberty Mutual’s Commercial Insurance business unit, where she has served in a number of underwriting and distribution roles – most recently as vice president and underwriting manager of the Southeast region. She has 15 years of experience in the insurance business, which includes primary casualty underwriting and regional product roles with Crum & Forster.

Hartley will report to Diana Cossetti, head of LIU U.S. Casualty.
